The Postgraduate Department is here to support every postgraduate student during their time studying at RMIT.
There are currently around 10,000 postgraduate students undertaking studies at RMIT at all campuses and from a vast array of disciplines. We know that postgraduates are a unique and diverse cohort of students. Because of this, RUSU wants to provide all postgrad students (both those undertaking coursework based studies, and those doing research based study) with a well-balanced experience at university by running postgrad-specific events. These include workshops, seminars, along with fun and enjoyable social events. We know that postgrad life can sometimes be a little isolating, so we want to make sure that you can be included in university life and be social too!
As well as running postgrad specific events throughout the academic year, RUSU Postgraduate department aims to make sure that postgrad students are listened to, represented and encouraged to get involved in the RMIT community. We undertake policy advocacy on behalf of the postgraduate student body, and make sure that the concerns of postgrad students are properly heard.
RUSU is also an affiliate of the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA). CAPA is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes the needs and rights of postgraduate students across Australia.
