RUSU Free Food Events have returned for Semester One! Check below for details of when each event runs.



Chill N Grill

Chill out from studying and enjoy RUSU's amazing free weekly lunches, where you can grab a sausage in bread or a vegan burger and hang out with your RUSU crew, while we keep the beats going all afternoon.

Week 1 to Week 12
12.00pm – 2.00pm

  • BRUNSWICK / Tuesdays, Building 514 Courtyard
  • BUNDOORA WEST / Wednesdays, Building 204 Courtyard
  • BUNDOORA EAST / Thursdays, Building 254 (fortnightly, starting 28th March)

Free Breakfast

Kickstart your day with a free breakfast from RUSU, where you can quickly grab some food from our friendly crew while heading to class, featuring fruit, brekky foods, noodles, muesli, and more.

9.30am – 11.00am (or until food runs out)

VE Smoko

VE Students! This one is for you. Take a break and join us for a FREE brunch! Featuring sandwiches, pies, sweet tunes and RUSU mates. Vegan & vegetarian options available. Food varies from week to week. From 11am in O'Grady Place, Carlton every Monday throughout the semester (when classes are on), until week 12.

Realfoods Affordable Meals

Realfoods offer budget-friendly lunches on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a $6 meal on Mondays and a delicious $6 toastie on Tuesdays.

Welfare on Wheels

During assessment time, RUSU and Compass will be coming by the library to help you study. We'll be wheeling in drinks and snacks to keep you going plus de-stress tips and support information.



Free Food Resources

You do not have to go hungry. There are plenty of resources available to you throughout the community that give you access to free food. You may also have community gardens and other food initiatives within your local area that you can access free of charge.
