Samuel Coombs

President

Email

Sam first became involved in student leadership as the elected RUSU Disability and Carers Officer for 2024, a position he successfully held for two years. In this role, Sam was the key Student Champion for the We Belong collaborative art project, exploring accessibility and allyship; he supported the ongoing delivery of the Neurodiverse Study Sessions; and has spoken on several RMIT panels focused on disability, accessibility, and equity.

In 2026, Sam will continue his commitment to supporting students affected by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, while championing the wellbeing of the entire student community. As President, his goal is to advocate for progressive changes to academic policy and accessibility at RMIT, and to lead RUSU in delivering outstanding student experiences.
