She is currently volunteering for Wavlink, an organisation that helps people with disabilities to socialise with and learn about, the outside world. Earlier this year, she visited Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy’s (HLCA) space camp, where she interacted with other like-minded peers from all over the globe. During the camp, she learnt about various phenomena and current issues; in the field of science, engineering and other technologies; such as: aeronautics, human-genome research and astronomy.

In the future, she hopes to see herself gaining industry experience, and use that knowledge, when studying for a post-graduate degree.

Second Year Committee Member
Leslie Penny

Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)
Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry)

Leslie joined aces as another recreational activity. She thinks it gets her out of the library at school, and helps her keep up with what’s going on. She aspires to spread the message that learning is as fun as you make it, with aces and help students achieve their goals. In future she would like to see aces grow and play an even greater role in getting students from the classroom to the international workforce. After graduating she said she’d be most interested in going into the medical industry and engineering something life changing. But of course, she will take what I can get and I knows she will enjoy the journey.
